Helping consumers understand THC and CBD potency

Cannabis packaging contains information that shows the amount of THC and CBD in products, but these numbers can be difficult to interpret if you don't know what you're looking for: is 10% high or low? And do I want high THC or high CBD?

To help your customers understand what these numbers mean, we've added a quick visual guide so they can more easily tell whether cannabis products have high, medium, or low levels of THC and CBD. Dispense now displays interpreted potency information for flowers, prerolls, and concentrates:

THC and CBD potency chart

What type of strain are you looking for?

THC-dominant strains will have strong psychoactive effects, they will get you 'high'. THC may be helpful with conditions such as:

  • Glaucoma
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea
  • Pain
  • Poor appetite

CBD-dominant strains will have little or no obvious psychoactive effects. CBD is often used to alleviate symptoms associated with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Inflammation
  • Headaches
  • Seizures

Balanced strains will get you high, but the effects will be noticeably different from THC-dominant strains.

And of course, THC and CBD aren't the only factors that shape cannabis effects: terpenes also play a factor. More on terpenes soon!
